About hundred HUB students from different faculties and departments joined "After graduation: information about jobs and internships at European and international organizations and beyond", the first event of its kind at the HUB, organized by the Centre Internationalisation & Projects, and which purpose it was to show prospective graduates possible ways to walk.

Students were informed about jobs and internships at the EU and the UN by speakers who were able to give different perspectives on the matter. HUB alumni, interns, professors and specialists sketched vivid pictures of what it takes to get accepted by the EU institutions and the UN and what it is like to work there.

One of the alumni, Ozge Iskit, who obtained the Master of European Business (MEB) degree at HUB, sent 100 application emails, received 99 rejections and was so happy with the only email that said she got an internship at the European Commission. Both Ozge Iskit and Réka Tunyogi, also MEB graduate, explained how the MEB programme helped them a lot in their jobs and internships in European institutions.

Lieven Tack (European Commission & College of Europe) and Ria Heremans (United Nations Association) were very honest when they said it is difficult to be accepted by the European Commission and the United Nations. On the other hand they outlined in a clear and concise way what students are supposed to do when they are interested to apply. The testimonial of UN-intern Glenn Geerts nicely complemented the speeches as it provided students with the students' perspective on internships at the UN.

HUB-CIP invited all participants to join the network event and have a drink. We welcomed students to visit the booths of many organizations, which help students find a job, an internship, further studies abroad and so much more. Representatives of Europass, NARIC, Eures, Euroguidance, AIESEC, AEGEE and the United Nations Association were present to inform students about the many opportunities they have (and the possible ways to walk).

The infosession & network event was called a huge success, so we are encouraged to organize a second edition next year.
